The founder Andreas Jansen
"Hoist your sail when the wind is fair". This English saying is not only figuratively tailor-made for the young entrepreneur Andreas Jansen from Wilhelmshaven (Germany). He knows about the wind of any kind, may it be trade wind, muck ral or the Scirocco. He set his sail not only early, but especially in the right moment. 28-year-old Jansen studied Environmental Management, Environmental Technology and Renewable Energy Systems Technology in the Netherlands, Germany and the United Kingdom. Within three years time he even completed his Master of Science degree. Already during his studies he was scientific assistant for bio-diesel and small wind turbines at the Sustainable Energy Ltd. in Cardiff/Wales. Afterwards he worked as scientific assistant in the departments of Studies and Micrositing at the Deutsche Windenergieinstitut GmbH (DEWI, German Wind Energy Institute). In the middle of 2004, he took the position as International Project Engineer at Deutsche WindGuard GmbH. He was primarily responsible for wind energy projects in developing and threshold countries. Moreover, he accomplished different studies, among others for Greenpeace International and The Federal Environment Agency in Berlin. As an expert for Renewable Energies, Jansen stood abroad in Indonesia, Spain and Tunisia. Jansen wrote several publications and studies. At the beginning of 2007 all doors were open to him. Jansen seized the opportunity, "set the sails" and established his own company in May 2007, German ProfEC - professional energy and environmental consultancy. German ProfEC is a consultant on Renewable Energy technologies. The services range from project planning and financing to the realisation and commissioning of projects in the fields of wind energy, solar energy, hydro power and biomass energy. The sails will be set again soon - towards the Dominican Republic and Peru. Jansen is going to promote and develop the transfer of Sustainable Development in emerging markets, for example Vietnam, the Caribbean or Peru. A network of international partners is available to him throughout these activities. |
